This past September, we traveled across the globe for the first international portion of the Dad Time series. Four dads let us into their Shanghai worlds to explore what Dad Time means to them. We explored many parts of the city -- from the world famous Bund to an incredible bird, insect, and flower market; a well-known food street and a local musician's home turf. Stay tuned for the corresponding video piece we are working on to showcase a piece of Chinese culture.
Kellogg School of Management
We had the opportunity to work with Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management to create new lifestyle imagery for their full-time MBA program view book.
We worked with over 50 current MBA students for three different scenarios over the course of the day. Working with so many students, we were able to capture a large variety of shots within each scenario. It was quite a windy, chilly day for our outside shot but we couldn't have been happier with the result. We also did some study group and in-session classroom shots.

SHIFT - Brand Launch Photo Library
Recently we did a lifestyle shoot for SHIFT -- a company with a revolutionary approach to healthcare. Designed for people who are looking to take control of their health, they provide coordinated care and access to the expertise that individuals need to in order to succeed.
We spent a Tuesday in August running around the city for both urban and nature-driven locations. We started early in order to capture the sun rising up over Lake Michigan near North Avenue Beach. Throughout the duration of the shoot, talent were engaged in complete exercise -- like jogging, biking, stretching, and yoga -- in order to capture the most natural looking images. We spent some time in the afternoon shooting at a few different spots along the Chicago Riverfront and could not have been more excited to share some favorites.

KinderCare
This past summer, we had the opportunity to create eight custom images for the newly remodeled KinderCare Headquarters in Portland, Oregon. The assignment was to create images from a specific list of activities to be printed as wall-sized murals in their corporate offices.
Using a combination of both professional talent and real KinderCare members, it was clear that these kids had a great time even though the majority of them had just met. Throughout the day, we played so many fun games like Hopscotch, Follow the Leader, Peek-a-boo, and Red Rover (just to name a few). To keep the shoot as authentic as possible, we even shot at a local KinderCare in Schaumburg.
Here are a handful of our favorites from the shoot.

#tbt Dad Time — Nick Grover
Nick Grover, head of licensing at Uniqlo, and his son, Mikio, were really fun to explore with. Mom, Surya, owns and runs Tosan Knows Best, a curated selection of goods for the raddest of dads.
We first met Nick, Mikio, and Surya at Muir Beach Overlook, part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It was a beautiful, very windy drive through the mountains and along the shore. Showing off gorgeous views of Pacific oceanside cliffs, this is one breathtaking site. We even got to see a blue whale!
After, we headed to a great little spot for some roadside camping in their Westfalia van, had some snacks, and then took a hike down to a really neat tree swing that boasted ocean views on one side and mountains on the other. Mikio is full of energy and his genuine excitement for exploring cannot be ignored. And he's got quite the set of parents to continue nurturing and encouraging that desire.
Prevention
At the beginning of June, we had the opportunity to shoot an editorial piece for Prevention Magazine about a Susan Warmerdam who survived Stage IV Lung Cancer when diagnosed at 47 years old. The cancer had been brought on by a gene mutation (EGFR), as opposed to the common cause of being a heavy smoker.
Because of her incredible strength, a complete overhaul of her diet and daily routine, and a combination of western and holistic medicines, Susan's tumors shrunk 30-70% just six weeks after initial diagnosis. She is truly an inspiration. Meeting her, you would have no idea that she has gone through so much. Very easy-going and fun to be around, she welcomed us into her home to take both candid environmental and more staged seamless shots.
Dad Time stills and motion — Eric Stevens

Eric Stevens and his wife, Jessie, along with their son, Leif, welcomed us to explore the many acres of land they live on in Cull Canyon, a regional park located in Castro Valley, California.
